Dremel Animal Claw Care

This is already the 4th claw cutter and the first one that is really good for big claws. Only a few seconds per claw - you almost have to be careful not to grind off too much! I am very satisfied! Highly recommended!

My dog is terrified every time I turn it on. Definitely not suitable for small breeds.

This is the second claw grinder that has not survived my 5kg dog. I previously had the claw grinder from Oster and it lasted about 2-3 years. Unfortunately, this claw grinder from Dremel lasted even less.
If the dog has "soft" claws (i.e. no black claws), this machine is great. But with hard claws, it is unfortunately not much good.

It has three (3) depth settings, two "shallow" that are very close together and one "deep" (i.e. the depth settings are not evenly spaced). For small dogs the only setting that seems to work is the top "shallow" option, but even then it can be difficult to get their claws inside the guard deep enough. Hence, we find it a little difficult to use. Only real plus is the power unit (the base) takes standard Dremel attachments, hence it is convenient sometimes to use the lower-powered battery power unit (instead of the mains-powered Dremel).
