Nothing can truly filter out radon. This filter will help a little, but you really need fresh air if you have radon detected in your basement. I use this air filter for 3d printing and light hobby work (sanding, filing, cutting, etc). It helps clear the air but will not remove huge amounts of anything very unpleasant. If you create a lot of dust, you need an extraction system, not an air filter. Heavy dust will just clog the filter up in a few days.
