Great product, lousy sales pitch
In my anti-plastic endeavours, I found what I was looking for here. I think everything is great, the cartridge is of course made of plastic, but it couldn't be cleaner.
What annoys me is the LED that is supposed to indicate when it's time to change the cartridge. I bought this filter jug for school. The LED switched to orange after just a few passes. After the Christmas holidays (the jug spent them unemployed in the classroom) it was red. The system doesn't count the passes or measure anything else. It's a cheap timer. It sounds the alarm after a month.
I'm a long way from having to change the cartridge after maybe 8 passes. But the product acts like it's high time. It's sneaky and fills Britta's coffers - and our rubbish bags. Here it costs two stars. Not that anyone cares.
I still hate the unrestricted doctrine of profit maximisation. I'll be leaving the filter in the jug for a long time to come.Pro
