As mentioned in other comments, the same thing happened to me: Machine doesn't budge when started up and incessantly spits out error code E:49 with a request to switch machine off and on again for 30 seconds. No chance.
Kenwood/DeLonghi may be a UK/IT brand, but the thing is made in China. No wonder, with this quality, Kenwood needs a 60-day return policy offer (which I took up - prefer to buy the Swedish Ankarsrum with 7 years warranty)

I have treated myself to this part because I wanted a larger machine for a long time, but with all current models was not sure whether they can also process small quantities. This one can: the (impressively finished) mixing elements reach down to the bottom of the bowl and can also be adjusted in height if necessary. It looks super well made and sturdy, the bowl light is a hit and I don't find it too noisy either. Certainly a machine that can also be used in a large kitchen. It is also quite large, you have to be aware of that, and you have to consider whether the control panel on the right side is suitable for your kitchen!
The splash guard can only be used on the larger bowl, on the smaller one there is a big gap - or I haven't figured out how to use it correctly, haven't found anything on the internet (yet). Also, you have to deal with it, you can't just switch it on and go, as it really is a small computer, but I have dealt with it intensively and it offers a lot accordingly.
My first impression is very positive, I do not regret the purchase and look forward to many uses and hope that it is as durable as my Bosch MUM5 which I put after 15 years in the corner ;)

The heatable bowl function is perfect for meringue or for melting chocolate. The yeast dough rises much faster thanks to the heat and becomes nice and airy.
The dough hook is large and stable and the machine has enough power for larger quantities of dough.
