Netatmo Rain gauge
Works well, unfortunately the installation instructions are a bit meagre. The rain sensor is very light and therefore, if you just put it down, it will be blown away by the first gust of wind. Thanks to a tripod thread, however, it can be easily attached, for example, with the Joby Action Clamp or another clamp tripod.

Product clearly falls short of the usual netatmo quality, both in terms of choice of materials and functionality. Cheap plastic instead of high-quality aluminium, no accessories, no rain sensor, only rain gauge.

Exciting addition to a Netatmo weather station. The installation instructions are too meagre; the hint on how to open the rain gauge was unfortunately missing and had to be found via the internet: Turn the base and the black element against each other! The plastic insulator must be removed from the batteries. The subsequent assembly requires some practice.
Next I had to update my weather station to a new firmware (via the iPhone app it looked at first as if the station would be reset to the factory settings, which fortunately was not the case).
Positioning the rain gauge for correct measurements is difficult; I bought a green square plant holder for the balcony at Coop Bau+Hobby (made of metal; storage surface as well as wires that hopefully protect the rain gauge from gusts & the like).
The only problem now is that the tray of the plant holder fills up with water about 1cm high, so the rain gauge stands in the water until it evaporates. I hope that this does not affect the measurements or the device.

Super easy to use and compile. Delivers tiptop results, even if not always very prompt, but perfect for measuring over the day or individual hours.
Mounting was also very easy, due to the thread at the bottom of the rain gauge it is even possible to screw on a tripod for perfect position and results.
Rather for single-family houses, as 3m from the house wall and at a height of 1.5m, not for balconies or rented flats.

A very good addition to the Netatmo weather station. However, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Commissioning is not possible without the internet. There is no documentation included and if you want to start using the device, you have to open it because it runs on batteries. Help can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch
To place the rain sensor, you have to use the data on the web, e.g. http://www.funkwetterstationen-test.com/index.php....
The mounting is also not clear from the beginning. After some research, I bought a camera mount from ABUS http://www.abus.com/Objektsich....
After mounting, the device has to be adjusted. You empty e.g. 200ml of water through the funnel and count how often it "clicks" e.g. 136 times. Then calculate 200ml/136= 1.47ml. This number is recorded under the menu item "Calibration of the rain sensor". Otherwise, "He who measures, measures rubbish".
In this combination, the device is easy to put into operation and works very well with the access options via iPad, iPhone, Windows (browser), Windows Gadget.

Top addition to the netatmo weather station! Installation is very simple, although I was a bit puzzled at first by the lack of operating instructions. However, together with the app, activation and start-up took place within a few minutes.
The installation location must be chosen in such a way that the drainage of the full tipping bowls from the housing is guaranteed. And the best thing to do is to find out on the Internet where to set up a rain gauge and where not to.
