For hiking or camping, the Nanopresso is a reliable companion. At last, real espresso with crema. The advantage is that you only need hot water and are independent of electricity. The coffee preparation is similar to that of the portafilter machines. Quick and easy. If you press the coffee too hard, the pumping is quite harsh. If you need a larger water tank or want to use coffee capsules, there are adapters to buy for that. I also bought the adapter for Dolce Gusto. This is even easier for me when I'm on the road and the children can also get a hot chocolate sometimes.

This system is very good, the coffee is very good, but the water does not keep hot at all, so either the coffee is cold, or you have to take a Thermos of hot water in addition.

The Nanopresso has surprised me really positively. I tried it at home (dark roast) and the coffee has conjured up a huge grin on my face. In terms of taste, it is far superior to my - yet quite good - portafilter machine! I would never have expected that. Nevertheless, I would not use the Nanopresso for home. I drink too much coffee for that and when I have visitors, it's rather inconvenient. For those who rarely drink coffee, have very little space available and are patient - why not use it as an alternative for any other coffee maker? Aroma wise, it puts many a portafilter to shame.
I am happy when trekking to drink an espresso in the morning in barista quality!
