It's hard, if not impossible, to shave all the way through a piece of cheese. The design means that the pressure on the cheese is exerted by squeezing the handle, which is completely ineffective from a mechanical point of view. Pressing directly on top of the cheese (directly on top of the grater) is more effective, but not the solution, as you can easily block the rotation of the crank.
The texture is completely irregular, from shavings (normal) to dust (too much). The cheese jams easily, blocking the mechanism. It's almost impossible to grate a whole piece of cheese, there are always flat strips stuck to the sides.
Older, harder cheese will be difficult or impossible to grate, depending on the strength of the person using it.
Very annoying to wash, you have to take everything apart and it takes up a lot of space.
