Ken Onion Edition Blade Grinding Attachment

This product is an accessory for the Work Sharp Ken Onion knife sharpener and does not function independently.

The elaborate grinding attachment is designed for use with the Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition knife sharpener. It is suitable for extensive reworking, as well as sharpening and honing blades. With variable geometry and adjustable belt angles from 10° to 35°, it can accommodate cutting edges ranging from crowned to nearly flat. The attachment can also be used to shape the contour of a blade. Please note that this attachment is recommended for experienced users, as the blade is guided freehand to the belt preset at the desired angle, without a guide. A flat support in the "zero position" assists the user. The belt speed ranges from 1200 to 2800 surface feet per minute. It is important to understand that the Blade Grinder Attachment is not intended for complete sharpening of blade blanks. Additionally, care should be taken to avoid overheating the blade; a detailed instruction manual with all necessary information is included.

Tip: When the abrasive belts lose their abrasive properties, do not discard them! Instead, you can create a stropping belt by applying abrasive paste to a used abrasive belt or by using fine toothpaste. Experimentation has yielded excellent results! You may also discover other suitable home remedies, such as silver polish (keep the speed for stripping in the higher range).

It is recommended to use the Blade Grinding Attachment as a wet grinder, meaning the grinding belt should always be moistened with water to achieve optimal results.
