Question about Xiaomi MI Robot Vacuum S12
Can the vacuum cleaner also be operated without the app? Does the data from the app go to the manufacturer, i.e. the LIDAR scan of my home and everything in it goes to Xiamo? Or does the app communicate directly with the vacuum cleaner without going via the cloud?

Yes. It can be operated without an app. It vacuums well on its own. But of course you can do a lot more with the app. And yes, the app even wants to know your mother-in-law's cup size. But you can do without it ;-)
I don't believe that the
robot hoover can be operated without an APP. Whether the Chinese know whether the robot hoover is vacuuming my bathroom
or the dining room doesn't really matter to me.
