Question about Philips Series 2000 AC2887/10
I would like to buy the Philips AC2887/10 instead of the Philips AC2889/10, because I don't want to connect it to the wifi. However, the specification says that the AC2887/10 has no pre-filter, is this true? Then I would also like to know if there is any harm or restriction if I don't change the activated carbon filter? As I understand it, it filters odours etc., I don't really need that, I just want to filter dust and pollen etc., I don't care about the smell.

Yes, the AC2887/10 also has a pre-filter, just like the AC2889/10.
According to Philips, the activated carbon filter is intended for the removal of odours and TVOC. I don't really know what exactly TVOCs are ;-) but they seem to be different gases. In any case, the unit works without the activated carbon filter. So you can simply leave it out and just install the HEPA filter and the pre-filter.
