The two indicators are controlled by a controller that is attached to the steering wheel. This controller and the helmet are already synchronized upon delivery.
The control system allows the helmet to signal the cyclist's desired change of direction. This indicator does not replace the extension of the arm, it only supports this additionally. The controller is in a kind of stand-by mode and wakes up for the time the signal is transmitted to the helmet and then switches back to stand-by mode. The battery lasts 6 months due to the economical stand-by mode. A 2.4 GHz RF (radio frequency) chip is used for signal transmission. The Led-s are arranged in a triangle, which amplifies the signal effect. A 1000 mAh battery is used to ensure helmet illumination. The battery can be charged via a microUSB connection. One charge should last for about three hours. The smartphone can be paired with the helmet. This allows the helmet to be "monitored" and sends a signal to the phone as soon as the battery becomes weak.
