As far as I know, in Switzerland the number plate has to be changed, i.e. from the back to the bike carrier. In other countries, you can ask for a second number and then fix it...

As far as I know, the number plate on the car must not be covered. However, since this is the case when the carrier is mounted with bicycles, the number plate must be attached to the carrier. A holder is provided for this purpose.
