It fits onto the tow ball, so as long as you have a tow bar, it should work. Check the load capacity of your tow bar. Regarding child bikes, I have carried bikes with 16" wheels and up without any issue. I tend to load the rack with the big heavy bikes first, and then the child bikes on last.
