The wall-mounted enclosure is made from very lightweight acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS), resulting in a weight reduction of about 50% for the same enclosure size. Despite the lower mass, the Fleet series enclosure proves to be a robust alternative, exhibiting an impact resistance of IK08. ABS plastic has high resistance to alkalis, oils, and salts. Unlike metal cabinets, the Fleet series has the advantage of being resistant to corrosive stresses without the need for additional coating of the enclosure surface.

Particularly for outdoor use, effective sealing of electronic components against external influences is essential. The plastic enclosures of the Fleet series feature a foamed polyurethane (PU) seal. The PUR seal is low-wear and robust against weather and aging effects. Polyurethane remains elastic and resilient even with frequent operation of the cabinet door.
