The HomeMatic IP smoke detector starter set includes a total of 3 smoke detectors and one access point. By connecting the 3 smoke detectors to the access point, you can receive status information about them and make the desired settings. The information can be accessed via the free HomeMatic IP app for iOS and Android. In the event of a fire, you will be alerted by a loud signal tone, and you will also receive a notification on your smartphone.

Access Point

The access point connects the HomeMatic IP system to the smartphone. It is connected to the router via a network cable. Configuration data and commands are forwarded from the smartphone through the access point to HomeMatic IP devices. The data is secured via AES encryption and reliably transmitted over an IP radio protocol based on 868 MHz. The operational status is indicated by a blue, yellow, or red LED light.

Smoke Detector

You can expand your security system to include up to 40 HMIP-SWSD smoke detectors, allowing coverage of an entire building with smoke detectors. In the event of a fire, a signal is automatically sent via radio to all smoke detectors within range. This enables timely response to a fire that may be located at a distance. The system operates with individual radio addresses, preventing overlaps with other radio services in the 868 MHz band.
