The Kupu10, designed by Harri Koskinen, is a battery operated smoke alarm for home use. It comes with an integrated, non-replaceable Ltihium metal battery with a runtime of up to 10 years - which is the
maximum recommended lifetime of smoke alarms. The automatic activation at installation and the never due battery change guarantee your home highest security for up to 10 years. In addition to the mounting plate included for easy installation, the automatic self-test function and the test function that can be activated from the entire front are further special features of this lifesaver. Kupu smoke alarms use photoelectric detection techniques to distinguish smoke from different fire sources. The photoelectric (optical) detector is triggered when infrared rays in the housing are deflected by smoke particles and reach the sensitive sensor. The integrated self-test function guarantees a trouble-free product life of up to 10 years. When smoke is detected, the unit sounds a loud and continuous alarm tone to alert residents and neighbors. To avoid false alarms, the smoke detector performs regular checks by measuring the air quality. However, if a false alarm should occur, you can temporarily deactivate the smoke detector for 8 minutes using the practical mute function. If strong smoke is detected during the mute function, the alarm will be reactivated for your safety. When the smoke detector reaches the end of its life, it will automatically warn you of the low batteries with short beeps for up to one month.
