Gardena Water distributor automatic
Irrigation valve
I have the "thing" now for a good 2 months in use. Connected are 6 irrigation hoses which is controlled by the Gardena Smart Water Control.
The changer may work fine if you want to water lawns and programming is not important. The changer does not change cleanly and so every now and then the programs get messed up. It can work fine for 5 days and then not. For example, I still have small pots of herbs connected. And when the program changes, then the pots are watered for an hour, that is, the herbs are drowned. In return, the other plants are watered for only 10 minutes.
I wonder then why the Gardena has a Smart Water Conroll and the changer runs mechanically. A battery or similar, coupled with the Smart Controll and one could go calmly into the vacations. But so, it does not work.
As I said, the changer may be good if you want to water lawns or large bushes where it does not matter much whether now program 1 or program 2 runs.
For me, the changer is a big disappointment and for my purposes, unfortunately, just garbage.
Contra
The water distributor is controlled (here) by a Gardena Master (Art. 1892-20), the impulse is given by water pressure. This simple solution is good in itself, but has the disadvantage that the used outlets can not simply be switched on and off manually by the valve on the device, because this disturbs the onward switching. Closing individual outlets would interfere with the programming of the master control.

After a few years, the old one no longer worked on all connections and was no longer tight. So I bought a replacement because it was otherwise very useful. But it doesn't look very high quality.
