An absolute hammer part, absolute buy recommendation! Although the weight seems to be a lot at the beginning, you get used to it quickly, especially if you have the attachment clip to it. I have it now almost a month left on the belt (my EOS 80D hangs thanks to Peak Designs Capture right on the belt) and feel in no way limited, neither by weight nor size.
The black, by the way, is not "paint" but a form of oxidation of the metal; luxury rust, if you will. Therefore, this can not stain, the oil used by the manufacturer to protect the tool but even more!
Therefore, I recommend everyone to take half an hour to completely disassemble the tool, clean it from the black oil and then treated with a reasonable care & lubricant such as WD40. This way your hands and clothes will stay clean in the future, the (expensive) oxidation will be protected and you can increase or decrease the force you need to open the tool. This also makes the handling easier, you get to know your tool better and you can repair or modify it in case of an emergency.
If this is too much work for you, you can open and close the tool a few dozen times and wipe away the gunk each time. You won't get rid of everything, but you'll get the tool open much easier and the gunk won't be everywhere. ;)

Comes dripping in oil and stains off, hands were immediately black. Although the tools are actually not bad but in terms of quality Victorinox is clearly better.
When using the slotted screwdriver caution is advised as these are very sharp and it can come to injury when slipping.carving with the knife is only possible if you wear Hanschuhe because the Ergomomie by the protruding blades and the saw is quite bad.
Normal cutting is no problem.
(Have it for 2 years) rather take a Victorinox spirit if you want to have a really well made tool.

Extremely disappointed in the black version. I thought it would be PVD coated but it’s what looks like super shitty black steel.
Comes covered in oil, but the tools are super hard to move, and the closing mechanism is not smooth at all like it should be ! Again because it’s grippy steel. The finishing of the color is super bad with scratches, typical of black steel that looks cheap and doesn’t move smoothly.
Leathermanns are excellent tools but just get the stainless standard version, please.
Hands get black after only a few seconds in hand, just unacceptable quality ! After a few weeks gets more usable but still, not the best.

The workmanship is basically very high quality, as you would expect from a Leatherman. Knife super sharp ex works. BUT the multitool was obviously bathed in paint, lubricating oil or something similar. The stuff is spread all over the tool and the hands (and clothes) are nicely dyed black at the slightest touch. I had to spend quite a bit of time cleaning the thing. That was quite unnecessary and annoying.

They still have to work on the delivery. The thing is soaked in grease and lubricant. You get dirty hands just unpacking it. I'm not used to that from pocket knives.
Tip: don't wear white clothes when unpacking.
