SunSun has installed a helix or "spiral-shaped" water flow system in the housing of the CUV-200 series, which ensures that the water flow spirals past the UVC lamp. This doubles the contact time of the water to be clarified with the UVC radiation. The UVC radiation from this PL lamp kills harmful algae, bacteria, and pathogens, keeping algae growth under control.

The UVC pond clarifier typically ensures clear pond water within 14 days, provided that you combine the UVC pond clarifier with a biological pond filter. UVC pond clarifiers irradiate the pond water with UV-C radiation in a flow reactor. UVC pond clarifiers alter the tertiary and quaternary structures of algae proteins through their UV radiation. This results in the death of the algae. The algae clump together into larger particles, making it easy to remove them from the water cycle through mechanical pond filtration.

The lifespan of the UVC lamp is between 7,000 and 10,000 operating hours. Therefore, we recommend changing the lamp of the UVC unit at the start of each season, when the water temperature in the pond rises, and cleaning the quartz glass of the UV lamp.

Functionality:
Water circulates through the two openings of the UVC clarifier, reducing all impurities such as suspended algae, pathogens, bacteria, or parasites. The longer this contact is maintained and the higher the UVC output, the more effective the killing is.

What size do you need?
For koi ponds, you can calculate 3 watts of power per cubic meter of pond water for the UV clarifier.
