The Pilot Knife from US knifemaker Dave Wenger is a fully-fledged outdoor and survival knife with a tactical focus. 5. Böker Plus Micro USB OTF

An OTF knife, compact and dynamic - sounds too good to be legal? Boker makes it possible and presents the Boker Plus Micro USB OTF, an OTF (Out of The Front) automatic knife with a 41 mm universal blade that complies with German law. This is made possible by the classification of the BKA (file number SO13-2022-36166803; more at www.böker.de), according to which the knife is not considered a weapon according to §1 para. 2b due to its small blade dimensions. According to the BKA classification, the Boker Plus Micro USB OTF falls under §42a of the Weapons Act and is therefore subject to the usual carry restriction for one-handed knives. As a handy automatic knife, the little genius quotes the characteristic design of common USB sticks and focusses on bites instead of bytes: boxes, packaging or ropes are effortlessly cut through by the D2 cutting blade. The switchblade knife has a slider on the front of the handle that allows the blade to move out of the handle with an energetic click and disappear discreetly when pressed again. Thanks to this practical one-handed operation, small everyday cutting jobs are done in no time at all.

6. Böker Bronco Basic

Ambitious goals were set when designing the new Boker Bronco fixed outdoor knife. It should be at the cutting edge of technical possibilities and offer optimum functionality with regard to modern requirements. It should also have the following properties: Universal and optimal usability for all professional outdoor users such as bushcrafters, campcrafters, survivalists, cross-country hikers, hunters, SAR teams and others. A CPM steel blade at the highest level of metallurgical possibilities. A handle that sits comfortably in the hand even when working for long periods, encloses the tang all the way round and does not give off any heat to the hand when cold. A high-quality leather sheath that can be worn with or without a dangler and protects the knife from loss and damage.

7. Böker Kihon Bifold 42a

Practical, aesthetic and highly functional pocket knife. The Boker manufactory from Solingen is known for handmade top knives, and the Kihon Bifold 42a (designed by Lucas Burnley) is by no means an exception. The 8.10 cm long blade is forged from powder-metallurgical MagnaCut, a high-performance steel that retains its edge and is hard, yet very tough - ideal properties for a reliable companion in all situations. A very cool design aspect - both visually and technically - is the stainless steel handle folded from a single piece, which houses the backlock mechanism and has a lanyard hole at the rear end. A nail nick in the blade assists with opening. Handmade in Solingen.

9. Böker Kaizen

The Boker Plus Kaizen picks up on the deeply rooted approaches of Far Eastern philosophy and transfers its basic ideas from the spiritual to the material level. The Japanese term Kaizen is made up of the syllables Kai (change, transformation) and Zen (for the better) and describes the continuous striving for improvement. Perfection thus becomes a temporary phenomenon and is merely an intermediate goal in a process of constant change. As an elegant pocket knife for the gentleman, the Boker Plus Kaizen captures the spirit of the times and impresses with clever, well thought-out solutions. Modesty as a sign of true greatness is perfectly embodied in the minimalist flipper, which almost merges visually with the slim knife and is nevertheless highly functional thanks to its serrated blade. The ball-bearing blade made from satin-finished D2 steel handles everyday cutting tasks with supreme ease and always returns safely to its starting position thanks to the reliable linerlock. The decorative turning screw forms the visual starting point of the Gentleman Folder as a symbol of the transformation of form and function and leads into the straight lanyard hole at the end of the handle. The textured handle made from non-slip G10 is comfortable to hold and is equipped with a practical clip (tip-up/R). Includes a high-quality nylon pouch for storage.
