Hello, I've just bought the Navimow i105e but I'd like to avoid having it "sleep" outside. Is it possible for this robot to work properly if I put its charging cradle (and therefore the GPS antenna too I suppose) in my garage? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Helpful answer

The robot needs good GPS reception where the charging station is, otherwise it won't set off. That will probably be difficult in the garage.

I bought and installed the Navimow a week ago. Great device!
As I understand it, both the charging station and the Navimow must have GPS and WLAN reception. The GNSS antenna must also have reception and be in the mowing area.
If you have already ordered the device, you can use the app to find and test the optimum location. There is a location finder within the app.
In short: maybe you're lucky and it works.
But I ask myself: Why put it in the garage? Because of theft? Buy the 4G module and you have good security with geofancing and an alarm on the device and in the app if the little one leaves a certain area. What's more, you would only have theft protection if the garage is closed. How does Navimow open the gate to go mowing? Is it about weather protection? Buy the Navimow garage, a kind of roof for the charging station.
Tip: Be patient when setting up. Try out different things, delete them, try again until you are satisfied. Let the little one mow automatically once and find out what makes it tick. I was surprised at how well it corrects its own mistakes.
Have fun!

Thank you all for your helpful answers.
2 more questions about this product:
- can the GPS antenna withstand heat (from the sun) and rain? (no protection supplied in the box)
- Does the robot remain electrically connected (and switched on) at all times (standby mode)?

Hello,
Your question has already been answered The aerial must remain outside. If the garage with the charging station is close to the antenna (cable length) you could set it up like this, but you would have to place the Navimow on the lawn by hand and start mowing (e.g. with the app).

Hello Calimotor123!
I actually wanted to do something similar, but unfortunately it didn't work if the charging station wasn't connected to the "satellite". But when I was setting it up, or recording my property, i.e. driving around the property once with the remote control, it told me exactly where I had good satellite reception, so I put the charging station in a place where it was shown as green and unfortunately that had nothing to do with the additional antenna, which I can theoretically mount on the roof and I wanted the charging station under the carport, which didn't work. So I put both outside and in a position with good satellite reception, then everything works perfectly. There are also NaviMow garages that protect the robot against the weather.

Unfortunately this won't work.
It is imperative that the robot itself is in direct contact with the satellites, it's not very clear on the instructions.
Also be careful if you buy him a cover that it is compatible GPS free.
