In Miguel's family, only great-grandma Coco remembers her Papá, a famous musician who supposedly left his family for music. Miguel is passionate about music and idolizes the renowned musician Ernesto de la Cruz. By chance, he discovers an old family photo featuring the famous guitar of this artist and is thrilled.
On Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead, events unfold rapidly: Miguel steals this guitar from a mausoleum. When he tries to play it, something strange happens: Miguel can see the dead in the cemetery, and the living walk through him as if he were air. Together with his deceased relatives, Miguel embarks on a journey to the fantastic Land of the Dead to find out how he can return to the living. Along the way, the boy meets the lovable skeleton Héctor, uncovers a well-kept secret, must fight against a dangerous opponent, and realizes that things are sometimes not as they seem.
But time is running out: Miguel can only leave the Land of the Dead until sunrise. Warning: Not suitable for children under 36 months. Small parts. Choking hazard. Wi-Fi with internet connection and Toniebox required. Narrators: Moritz Pliquet, Pablo Ribet Buse, Karlo Hackenberger, Heino Ferch, Alexandra Marisa Wilcke, and many more.
