You can spend up to 12 euros on a tube of toothpaste - or just 65 cents. Our tests show: Some of the best toothpastes are also very cheap. And it's not only worth comparing the prices. There is also a wide range of scores. The test winners are very good, the worst toothpastes are poor. The latest Stiftung Warentest study added 18 new universal toothpastes to the list.

The result: almost every second toothpaste tested fails: We rated 199 products as "poor" or "insufficient". "Satisfactory" or "sufficient" are 58 toothpastes. They have minor defects. A good third of all toothpastes can be recommended: 116 products are rated "very good" and 27 "good"...
