The thing has decent performance. So far I had a device from Philips for about 50 francs. Since the power button and motor is over after about 2 years.
With this device, I notice that it is more difficult to get close-fitting hair. I think the attachment is a bad design. However, with my previous unit, it was often the case that the cut length was only right if you were very precise and didn't guide the trimmer at too much of an angle. That no longer happens with this one. But I have to relatively often over the same place and this in all directions to catch all the hair.
What I also noticed; The device was delivered with completely discharged battery. This should not be so and may indicate a battery already damaged due to deep discharge. Whether I now give the device in warranty, I currently do not know. I still test a few weeks.
Update: After a few weeks of testing, I am dissatisfied
I have to make countless swipes to get all the hairs. So it takes me a long time to finish.

None of the three Philips trimmers I owned lasted for more than two years (and I only used them twice per week). Time will tell, but this Panasonic one is really built from high quality materials, well designed and very easy to use. I quite like the battery indicator and the sound the device emits when you need to charge it.
You do need to lubricate the blades every time, but it's not a huge deal. Highly recommended.

I bought the trimmer because of the many positive reviews and the many good tests. The handling is "bulky" due to the size of the device. It is difficult to trim in such a way that the blades keep the distance to the skin cleanly and evenly. I prefer to go back to my old trimmer, which I wanted to replace.

I would not buy a beard/hair trimmer without linear motor technology again. This device is a lot of fun to use. No comparison to my previously purchased devices.
