Review: Philips First Shave - Where stubble survives safely
In my search for a particularly gentle razor for in-between shaving, I came across the Philips First Shave. This razor, cute as a button on a teddy bear, seemed to be just the thing for my sensitive skin. Unfortunately, its shaving power turned out to be about as effective as a squirrel trying to chop down a tree.
With its charming design and handy size, the device promises to glide gently over the skin - so gently that it leaves any stubble unmolested. It's like competing against stubble with a fluffy cotton ball, with the stubble coming out victorious every time.
After several attempts, during which I smiled at my reflection in the mirror rather than cutting my hair, I had to realise: The Philips First Shave is perfect if you want to grow your beard to full splendour without being disturbed by such mundane things as shaving.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a shaver that hugs your stubble more than it trims it, you will be delighted with the Philips First Shave. For everyone else, it makes an excellent modern art object in the bathroom. Little shaving, lots of charm - a real eye-catcher!Pro
