Why is an overheating protection built into an electric blanket that requires you to send the blanket to the manufacturer to reset it and you almost get a new one for the money? Is it because the manufacturer earns more than if the blanket simply switches off when it overheats and switches on again when it cools down? Which would also be technically possible... (glass ceramic hobs etc.)
