The Nintendo Switch's online subscription service is going retro. Super Nintendo games became available today. Nintendo is launching 20 classics, including such greats as «Super Mario World», «The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past» and «Breath of Fire».

You have always been able to get old NES games with the paid Nintendo Switch Online Subscription. Nintendo is now expanding its offer with games from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. There's also a matching wireless SNES controller that makes the retro gaming feel even more authentic.

Of course, Nintendo doesn't do anything low-effort – the first 20 SNES games include some real treats:

  • Super Mario World
  • Super Mario Kart
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Super Metroid
  • Stunt Race FX
  • Kirby’s Dream Land 3
  • Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
  • Star Fox
  • F-Zero
  • Pilotwings
  • Kirby’s Dream Course
  • BRAWL BROTHERS
  • Breath of Fire
  • Demon’s Crest
  • Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics
  • Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force
  • Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
  • Super Puyo Puyo 2 (available for the first time in the U.S.)
  • Super Soccer
  • Super Tennis

Fitting with the new/old games, there's also a Wireless-SNES-Gamepad.

The controller is sold exclusively to subscribers and costs CHF 33,45.– A maximum of four controllers may be purchased per Nintendo account.

Wow, if that doesn't add value to the Switch. Thanks to the SNES, the subscription now includes a total of almost 50 titles. We can definitely look forward to upcoming games.

I find my muse in everything. When I don’t, I draw inspiration from daydreaming. After all, if you dream, you don’t sleep through life.
