At the launch event of the Ryzen 7000 processors, there was also a preview of the next Radeon graphics card with RDNA3 architecture. AMD promises 50 per cent more performance per watt compared to the previous generation and that the cards will arrive this year.

Not much has been seen or heard about the new cards with RDNA3 architecture. It is also unclear which model is involved and which power connections the card requires. AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su is also otherwise stingy with information. She does say, however, that the cards will achieve a 50 per cent increase in performance per watt over the previous generation.

Also interesting is that the cards are based on the 5nm chiplet design. A chiplet is a part of a processor module that forms a larger integrated circuit, such as the GPU in this case. Until now, AMD has relied on a monolithic design for GPUs. This was also the case with the previous generation. Thus, after years, AMD GPUs finally became a serious alternative to Nvidia again.

Su confirms the launch of RDNA3 in 2022.

You can watch the presentation in the video. The part with the GPU starts at 30:35:
