Android 13 is getting closer at OnePlus and Xiaomi - for some smartphones
OnePlus and Xiaomi have released new beta versions of Android 13 for testing. They can be tried out on the OnePlus 10 Pro, Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro.
Two days after Google released the final version of Android 13 has been released, the new operating system is getting closer for the first smartphones from Xiaomi and OnePlus.
Open Beta at OnePlus
On the in-house forum, OnePlus has unveiled the second open beta of Oxygen OS 13, which is based on Android 13, for the OnePlus 10 Pro. And also includes instructions on how to install the trial version on your smartphone - which you shouldn't do on your everyday device.
OnePlus still does not specify when the final version of Oxygen OS 13 will be released. Most recently, the manufacturer had announced which of its smartphones will receive the update.
Xiaomi is looking for volunteer testers
Xiaomi is not yet in the open testing phase for Android 13 for the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. The company is looking for 200 testers for each of the two smartphones via a forum post. The work on the update does not seem to be as far along as it is at OnePlus.
There is no final, official list of smartphones from Xiaomi yet that are set to receive an update. The following models are considered to be confirmed, although the company has not communicated any timeframes. Basically, though, you can expect newer and more expensive smartphones to get the update first.
