Between gaming enthusiasts and the Gamescom stands - part 2

In case you missed my post from yesterday, here it is:

A few years ago, getting up early was never a problem. That's changed slightly in recent times. So that's the reason I still have small eyes before the show opens. Maybe it's also due to the articles we've been writing late into the night, just for you. Whatever; here's my second day at Gamescom Cologne.

We have a meeting with Medion in Hall 10.1. To get there, we pass through a hall - so far still unknown to me. Lots of small stands with well-known products like elgato and countless indie games. In a bit of a hurry, we make our way through the hall with a few stops. I promise myself I'll be back, but can already tell you I didn't make it.

Medion convinces with a complete solution. They not only develop their own gaming monitors and PCs, but also keyboards and mice. The eight gaming settings are complemented by a gaming chair with the brand logo. By the way, until Saturday 26.8.17, you can take advantage of 10% off all gaming chairs! Among all the Medion PCs in the Erazer series on display, the limited edition sits at the top. An artist had the privilege of immortalising himself with an airbrush on one side of the case. It's really cool, but what do you do when the computer disappears under the table?

On the other side is the ESL Arena for live public matches. Unfortunately only from 3pm. Here too I promise myself I'll be back, but fail. It seems that technology fails here too. The huge screen for the broadcast in the hall suddenly starts flickering and tries to switch itself off. But all of a sudden, I also notice systems that don't work on other stands. But hey, it's still early and the 'real' visitors don't arrive until around 10.

The rest of the day is made up of meetings with HTC Vive, Xbox, EA and Nintendo again, various work interruptions (daily business continues in Zurich) and a short lunch break. By the way, the food stands at Gamescom are great. Our menu: Pulled-Pork Fries with Coleslaw and red onions.

Finally, I'm still throwing myself into a hall full of cosplay fans watching a short film about Overwarch. However, I'm here to meet a work colleague. It looks like we're being overwhelmed by the crowd. So I wait until the end of the film and discover her in her Tracer costume. Stéphanie (see image at the top of the page) works in our digitec branch in Bern and is my promised surprise to Bernese customers yesterday. Yay.
