Canon cameras can now be used as webcams

Canon USA has recently launched a software that allows cameras to be used as webcams. For now, this only works with Windows PCs.
There’s an easy way to use a regular Canon camera as a PC webcam. Canon has launched the EOS Webcam Utility, which is currently still in a beta phase. It’s installed on Windows 10 and allows you to use your camera as a PC webcam. Just connect it with the USB cable and it should work. Unfortunately, I can’t test this right now, as I don't have a Canon camera at hand. If you do, please give it a try and let me know how it went by commenting below this article. Thank you!
Officially, the software is only available for the USA. This only means that Canon doesn’t provide support for other countries, but you can still download and use the tool.
There are photographers who do photo sessions via video chats. Such tools could help to improve quality – the idea might even outlast the corona crisis.
