CES 2023: Asus unveils 18-inch ROG gaming laptops

Asus is giving its gaming laptops larger displays in 2023. The largest ones so far had 17.3 inches, now the 18-inchers are coming.
Asus announces the two gaming notebooks ROG Strix G 18 and Strix Scar 18 at the CES. What makes them special are their display diagonals of 18 inches. Both displays have a 16:10 format. They are said to be bright up to 1100 nits for short periods and support the HDR standard Dolby Vision.

The Strix Scar 18, Asus' new gaming flagship, packs up to an Intel Core i9-13980HX, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 (16 gigabytes), as well as 64 gigabytes of DDR5 memory and up to four terabytes of SSD.

Further, Asus is also bringing two upgraded Strix Scar 17 and Scar 16. For the 16-inch variant, ROG will offer a mini LED display with 240 hertz, 100 percent DCI-P3, Dolby Vision, G-Sync and a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels (16:10 aspect ratio). The 17-inch variant (16:9 format) is available exclusively with AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs, with Asus ROG relying on Intel for the rest.
