Easter craft ideas for kids: what's trending on Instagram
Want to do Easter crafts with your child? These ideas are currently trending on the social media platform Instagram.
At the moment, mumfluencers - mums who share their expertise on Instagram - are helping me to get more excited about crafting with my five-year-old son. Because just before Easter, everyone wants to cut out a cute bunny, hang a self-made egg in the front garden or make a nice present for the grandparents. If you're still looking for inspiration yourself, you might like one of these ideas.
Easter bunny hand
I think this quick craft idea is particularly cute: You ask your child to place their hand on a piece of paper and trace the outline once. Then bend the thumb and little finger forwards and the middle finger backwards. Now all you have to do is draw a face for the bunny and attach the back finger with adhesive tape to create a holder: you can hang the bunny on it later. I saw this cute crafting trick from Melissa Jean, who calls herself DogMomAdventures on Instagram. On her account, which is followed by a good 172,000 people, she often shares tips for parents or events from her everyday life with children and dog.
Colourful dotted Easter bunny pictures
The picture shows an Easter bunny surrounded by dots of colour. To do this, take a colour base - in the video it is a paper plate - and put a few dabs of different coloured acrylic paints on it. Then you'll need craft pampons, which you stick into clothes pegs. Then cut out an Easter bunny, stick tape on the back of it and attach it to a sheet of paper. Your child can get started and colour the whole leaf with the pompoms. Remove the Easter bunny at the end so that you have a great outline and can label the artwork. The inspirational video comes from Sammie Adams aka Sammieadamsblog and has already been viewed 1.2 million times.
Cotton bunny with photo face
I saw another reel from the same influencer that is too cute not to try: Cotton ball bunnies with your child's face.
You will need:
- A photo of your child
- A white sheet of paper
- Colour or ink
- Wadding
- Glue
- Scissors
Colour the soles of your child's feet, press them onto a sheet of paper and cut them out. Then stick it to the bottom of a new sheet. Then cut out your child's face and place it on the same sheet as the bunny's face. Now glue cotton wool around it and draw two oval-shaped ear inserts in the same colour and place them on top of the ears. Finally, cut out the cotton wool bunny and your Easter gift is ready. [do

Cute Easter pictures with straws
I really liked the tip from Deena Keller, who posts her creative ideas on Instagram under the pseudonym Abcdeelearning. She cuts the tip of a straw and folds the individual strips to the side. The cut end is then dipped in paint like a brush and used to create round shapes for pictures such as Easter eggs, bunnies and chicks. Finally, you can decorate them with cut-up paper or craft eyes. This video was so popular with her followers that it has now been viewed 2.2 million times. You can find more craft ideas for Easter on her profile.
