Even more game modes and action - NHL 17 coming soon
Unfortunately, I missed out on playing the game myself at Gamescom, but looking over the shoulders of those who did in the trade visitor area convinced me: I'm going to get the game. And the moment for next week's release couldn't be more favourable: As I write these lines, the first full round of the Swiss National League A is underway.
EA SPORTS has once again drawn from the full: With the two new game modes Draft Champions and World Cup of Hockey, you can compete in a fantasy draft in a team full of stars or step into the rink for the country of your choice in the second mode. And if you're too busy for that, you can opt for Be a GM mode and plan the team's next move from behind your desk (which fortunately could still be prevented in Kloten this year) or dictate the menu for the snack stands.
The game physics on the ice have also been revised. Thanks to the new goal-area duel system, it is now possible to win centimetre by centimetre even more precisely in front of the goal, while the goalkeepers adopt even more typical stances and react athletically to the current game situation.
A new part of the game is the popular ice training with coach feedback, which makes it easier for beginners to get started and gives all habitual players the chance to further improve their skills.
For the first time, NHL 17 is only being released for next-gen consoles. The game is available from us individually and in a bundle with the respective console (until further notice with the "old" variants, the newer ones will follow) - from 15 September.
