Honor Earbuds 3 Pro: The first headphones with fever gauge

The Earbuds 3 Pro from Honor look like Apple's AirPods Pro. However, a new feature distinguishes them from the Apple earbuds on the inside: They have a fever gauge installed.
Honor presents new true-wireless headphones that are very reminiscent of Apple's AirPods Pro in terms of design. However, they have a function that has probably not been available in any other headphones before: a temperature sensor. So far, I am only aware of headphones with a heart rate monitor, for example from Jabra or Bragi.
This is how the fever measurement is supposed to work
The integrated thermometer is supposed to measure the body temperature with a precision of +/- 0.3 degrees Celsius. The temperature sensor sits on the inside of the earpiece and is primarily intended for measuring during sports. During sports, the body runs at higher temperatures - the function can then warn of impending heat stroke. In addition, the Buds can measure continuously and thus create a temperature profile.
By tapping the earpiece three times, the real-time measurement starts. The video on Honor's homepage shows that the right earpiece is tapped for the measurement - it is not clear from the video whether both earpieces have an integrated measuring unit.

And otherwise: ANC, battery and wireless charging.
Like most newer True Wireless headphones, the Earbuds 3 Pro feature Active Noise Cancelling - ambient noise reduction. This has four different modes: ultra, cozy, general, and a telephony mode. According to Honor, the battery lasts four hours with ANC or six hours without. Three more charges are stored in the case. And the case can be charged wirelessly.
Honor has also installed new drivers, namely so-called coaxial dual drivers. They are supposed to provide extra bass and clear trebles. To avoid confusion with Apple's AirPods Pro, the buds are also available in a gray color.

There is no information on price and availability in Switzerland yet. The recommended retail price for Germany is 199 Euros, but there is no release date yet.

Testing devices and gadgets is my thing. Some experiments lead to interesting insights, others to demolished phones. I’m hooked on series and can’t imagine life without Netflix. In summer, you’ll find me soaking up the sun by the lake or at a music festival.
