MWC 2022: Lenovo ThinkPad X13s with Snapdragon to last 28 hours

Lenovo presents a 13.3-inch ThinkPad with Snapdragon and 5G at MWC 2022 in Barcelona. Thanks to the processor with Arm architecture, the laptop is supposed to offer up to 28 hours of battery runtime.
It is the first ThinkPad that is launched without a processor from Intel or AMD. Instead of an x86 architecture, an Arm-based System-on-a-Chip (SoC) is in the X13s notebook. This results in a fanless device with less performance, but a longer battery life. Thus, the notebook is probably primarily aimed at business users - office users and frequent surfers.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X13s is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3, which is supposed to be 85 percent faster than the 8cx Gen 2. Together with a 49.5 Wh battery, it is supposed to provide up to 28 hours of runtime. The new SoC offers an Adreno GPU and 5G connectivity, among other things. Further, there is up to 32 gigabytes of LPDDR4X-4266 RAM and up to one terabyte of internal SSD storage. In terms of ports, a 3.5 mm jack, a nano-SIM slot and two USB-C ports 3.2 Gen 2 are offered. Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and eSIM are also included.

The display has a 16:10 aspect ratio, measures 13.3 inches and offers a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels. With up to 400 nits, it is also bright enough for outdoor use - apart from direct sunlight. Mobile office workers will also be interested in the 5-megapixel webcam with IR function for unlocking via face.
