by Dominik Bärlocher
Black, 6 GB RAM and IP67 – these are just some of the Google Pixel 5a specs leaker Jon Prosser claims to have found out.
In April, Google confirmed there will be a Pixel 5a. Now, more details about its features, price and the launch date have been leaked. But don’t get too excited about the smartphone just yet.
The US blog frontpagetech.com had already learned and published details about the Pixel 6 early on, which have subsequently proven to be correct. Despite claiming the Pixel 5a smartphone was cancelled at first, the blog has now provided details about the Pixel 5a, which will allegedly be available on 26 August 2021.
Jon Prosser claims to have found out the following specs about the Pixel 5a:
In addition, the Pixel 5a is said to feature a headphone jack and be water-resistant with IP67 certification. However, Google reportedly didn’t equip its device with a wireless charging feature. The price is said to be $450.
Google already announced in April that it would only launch the Pixel 5a in the US and Japan. What a shame.
The postponement of the Pixel 4a caused quite a bit of confusion, which didn’t get better when the 5a was postponed as well. Let’s hope Google will set things straight by launching the Pixel 6a shortly after the Pixel 6 and making the 6a available in more countries.
