New Surface models: Microsoft invites you to an event in October
Microsoft is hosting an event in New York City on 2 October and everything points to the Windows manufacturer presenting new Surface devices there - perhaps even the model with two screens.
With its Surface tablets and laptops, Microsoft has established itself as a hardware manufacturer and has presented new models every year so far. There were no new devices in 2019, but now there is an invitation to an event at the beginning of October, as reported by the US blog The Verge .
New Surface and updates to existing models
Not only have rumours been growing for months that Microsoft is working on a Surface model with two screens, but also that development is well advanced. While Asus is slowly starting to sell its Zenbook Pro Duo, Microsoft is said to be targeting 2020 for its dual-screen Surface. However, October 2019 could be too early for a 2020 Surface. After all, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has already cancelled the Surface Mini a few weeks before the planned launch and with its own event next year, the dual-screen Surface would also be sure to attract attention.
But even without completely new devices, Microsoft could introduce many new models. The tenth chip generation from Intel is now ready and could find its way into the Surface Go, Surface Pro, Surface Laptop or Surface Book. As part of a refresh, USB-C connections could also find their way into notebooks and tablets.
