WhatsApp has received some new features for phone calls and video calls in groups, the profile picture and switching from Android to iOS.
In the last few days, Meta has added several new features to its messenger WhatsApp, or rather announced them. So it may be that not all the new features are available on your smartphone yet.
Chat and mute in groups
In the groups of WhatsApp you can not only write with up to 512 contacts, but also make video calls and audio calls. Although only with 8 and 32 people, but even there it bothers if someone forgets to mute. You can now do that - remotely - as you may already know it from Teams or Zoom - WhatsApp boss Will Cathcart announced on Twitter.

In addition, it will be easier to chat with a single person on the side during Group Call - in case there is something that not everyone in the group is interested in or should overhear. In addition, WhatsApp now fades in a hint when someone joins the call later.
Profile picture no longer visible to everyone
Until now, every person with your phone number in their address book could see your profile picture. You can now change that - as WhatsApp shares on Twitter - and choose who can see your profile picture in the settings. So you no longer have to worry about scaring away professional contacts with a picture that is too private - but different profile pictures are not yet an option.
Switch from Android to iOS
The feature is so important that meta-chief Mark Zuckerberg announced it himself at Facebook: chats, photos and videos can now be taken along when switching from Android to iOS - in the other direction, this has been working since October 2021. The data transfer is now integrated into Apple's "Move to iOS" app.

When I was but a young student, I'd sit in my friend's living room with all my classmates and play on his SuperNES. Since then I've had the opportunity to test out all the newest technology for you. I've done reviews at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, and have now arrived at Galaxus.de.
