Now available from us: the new version of the 360-degree camera Gopro Max
Gopro has released a new version of its 360-degree camera from 2019. There are improvements to the software in particular.
The Gopro Max is an action camera that records 360-degree videos. It is an upgrade of the Gopro Max from 2019, and its main advantage is the improved post-processing options in the Quik app. You can find out more about this below.

Not much has changed in terms of hardware - the battery now has a capacity of 1960 mAh instead of 1600 mAh. Gopro has also given the action cam a 1/4-inch thread, which you can use to attach the camera to standard tripods.
360-degree recordings and their possibilities
You only decide the angle of your 360-degree video during post-production. You can change the angle of view, so you are not tied to a fixed view. This allows you to always focus on the essentials. "Max doesn't miss a thing" is the slogan for the camera. The camera should be able to effortlessly remove the selfie stick you use from the image during processing.
You also don't need to worry about the field of view when taking the picture: Decide later how much wide angle you want your video to show. According to the manufacturer, you can produce any format from the 360-degree recording: In addition to horizontal video clips, which are great for YouTube, you can also get square and vertical clips, for example for Instagram and Tiktok.
Special effects of the Quik app
You should be able to carry out the editing easily in the in-house Quik app. The manufacturer promises that you will always keep a moving person in the centre using the new AI tracking. To do this, you select the person as the subject and the app takes care of the tracking.
In addition, interesting motion effects can be added that resemble those of camera drones. For the viewer, it then looks as if the camera is changing position or moving away. With the horizon lock, the horizon is always kept level, even if you perform loops or other wild rolls with the camera.
The software is also designed to reliably stabilise blurred images. The camera can withstand splashes of water, but is not suitable for use under water according to the manufacturer. In addition to 360-degree recordings, normal action cam videos in 1440p are also possible.
The six microphones on the Gopro Max are designed to record all-round sounds and reduce wind noise at the same time. You can use voice commands to take photos without a self-timer, for example.
