Elite Avanti without cassette
Now available: New roller trainers from Elite
Elite is expanding its range of roller trainers with the new Avanti, Justo 2 and Direto XT models. According to the manufacturer, the trainers promise precise power measurement and are compatible with popular apps.
Would you like to organise your training regardless of the wind and weather and continuously improve your performance? Then a roller trainer can be a worthwhile investment. Elite, one of the leading manufacturers of exercise bikes, has recently introduced three new models to suit both beginners and experienced cyclists: the Avanti, the Justo 2 and the Direto XT with Zwift Cog & Click. The first two roller trainers are now available in our shop. The Direto XT with Zwift Cog & Click will be delivered from mid-December.
Elite Avanti
The Avanti is the new entry-level model in Elite's smart trainer family. It is designed to offer all the basic functions you need for effective indoor training. Thanks to the ANT+ and Bluetooth interface, you can connect the Avanti to numerous training apps such as Zwift, TrainerRoad or Elite's own My E-Training app. This allows you to ride virtually on familiar routes, take part in races or complete customised training plans.
According to Elite, the Avanti's integrated power meter has an accuracy of ± one per cent. The resistance is automatically adjusted to realistically simulate the incline and speed of the virtual route. You can simulate inclines of up to 18 per cent.
Elite Justo 2 with 12-speed cassette
The Justo 2 is the further development of the first Justo model and is aimed at ambitious cyclists. It is characterised by a particularly precise power measurement with an accuracy of less than one per cent and is able to simulate inclines of up to 24 per cent. The Justo 2 is equipped with two Flex Fleet models to simulate the natural lateral bike oscillations. The red set enables a lateral oscillation of seven per cent, the black set of 4.5 per cent.
In addition, this roller trainer has a pre-installed 12-speed 11-34 cassette from Shimano. All you have to do is find the right adapter for your bike and mount it on the trainer. The new Wi-Fi function is designed to increase the connectivity of the exercise bike. According to Elite, data transmission at ten hertz should ensure immediate synchronisation with all indoor cycling apps.
Elite Direto XT with Zwift Cog
The Direto XT with Zwift Cog & Click is also equipped with the integrated OTS (Optical Torque Sensor) power meter. The power measurement is carried out with an accuracy of +/- 1.5 per cent. The resistance is automatically adjusted to simulate gradients of up to 24 per cent.
The new version of the Direto XT series removes the cassette with the pre-installed Zwift Cog. According to Elite, this gives you an instant setup that ensures compatibility with all bikes that have 8- to 12-speed transmissions. The system is said to provide a "smooth and quiet ride" and be ready to use immediately.
The gear change is controlled via the Zwift Click. This is a controller with two buttons that enables virtual gear changes. It adjusts the resistance of the exercise bike to simulate shifting with 24 preset virtual gears. However, this virtual shifting is only compatible with Zwift. If you want to use other indoor training apps, you will need to remove the Zwift Cog and use a cassette set of your choice instead.
