Oral health is closely linked to general health. Dental diseases can lead to serious complications. If you are looking for a new toothbrush, one of the new models of Philips-Sonicare sonic toothbrushes could be something for you. The Series 5000, 6000 and 7000 are said to offer even more thorough cleaning and a range of innovative functions. The battery life has also been improved: from 14 to 21 days. They are now available from us. I would like to introduce you to a few models below.

The manufacturer advertises the "Next Generation Sonicare Technology" in particular as new. But what is it anyway? According to Philips Sonicare, this is a patented adaptive magnet system that continuously controls the movements of the motor. It delivers the right amount of power to the bristles, improving plaque removal in hard-to-reach areas. When used, the toothbrush creates tiny bubbles that transport toothpaste and water deep into the interdental spaces and along the gums. This is intended to ensure thorough cleaning.
In addition to their functions, the Series 5000, 6000 and 7000 models differ primarily in their clinical claim. This is the company's marketing slogan. However, such claims must always be proven in the clinical evaluation. The product line-up differs slightly in the German and Swiss country shops.
Series 5000
The Series 5000 models are said to enable up to twice as much whiter teeth and remove up to seven times more plaque compared to a manual toothbrush
Series 6000
The Series 6000 models are said to provide gentle cleaning even for sensitive teeth and gums and remove ten times more plaque compared to a manual toothbrush.
Series 7000
According to Philips Sonicare, these models promise up to seven times healthier gums in a fortnight and up to ten times more plaque removal compared to a manual toothbrush.
Cleaning modes, timer and pressure sensor: other functions of the new models
In addition to the "Next Gen Sonicare Technology", the new models offer further functions:
- Multiple brushing modes: The different models have a selection of brushing modes. The Series 5000 offers four, the Series 6000 nine and the Series 7000 a total of twelve different cleaning programmes.
- Timer: A built-in timer reminds you to brush each quadrant of your teeth for a sufficient amount of time.
- Pressure sensor: The Series 6000 and 7000 models are equipped with a visual pressure sensor that warns you if you are brushing your teeth too hard. The Series 5000 models have a buzz pressure control, so you hear a buzzing sound.
The Philips Sonicare app: a helpful addition
The Philips Sonicare app is an addition to the Series 7000 models. You can connect your toothbrush to the app via Bluetooth. The app offers the following functions:
- Brushing time tracking
- Pressure monitoring
- Cleaning mode selection
- Motivation functions
- Creation of cleaning schedules
- Tooth map
All models come with a travel case. In the case of the Series 6000 and Series 7000 sonic toothbrushes, this is a charging case. You can find all models in the 5000, 6000 and 7000 series here.
