Understanding Spanish without a course: with Samsung's new AI functions
by Michelle Brändle
For years, Samsung has been giving a smartphone to everyone who qualifies for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This year, the athletes will receive a Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition.
In its function as an Olympic sponsor, Samsung has been giving away mobile phones to athletes since before smartphones existed. This year, participants in the Olympic and Paralympic Games will receive the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in Gold "bright yellow" as a gift.
The back of the Olympic Edition of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 features the Olympic rings and the Paralympic Agitos. The special edition package includes a flipsuit cover made from Venezia leather. This was designed by the Parisian luxury brand Berluti, which also designed the French team's clothing for the opening ceremony.
Samsung is of course also touting the smartphone's AI functions. The live translation and interpreter in particular should be very helpful when people from all over the world come together.
So that the athletes can use their smartphone straight away, they will also receive an eSIM with 100 gigabytes of data. Several apps from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) are also pre-installed. They allow athletes to keep an eye on the Games schedule, for example, or find their way around the venues. The Samsung Wallet also includes a free digital ticket for public transport in Paris during the Games.
At the medal ceremony, athletes are not allowed to take any personal items onto the podium. The IOC is now relaxing this rule for its long-standing sponsor Samsung. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition is allowed on the podium. This allows the athletes to take their own pictures and selfies of this special moment for them - and the flip smartphone can be seen more often. <p
As a primary school pupil, I used to sit in a friend's living room with many of my classmates to play the Super NES. Now I get my hands on the latest technology and test it for you. In recent years at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, now at Digitec and Galaxus.
