Perfect everyday companions: my 9 favourite apps

We've all checked Facebook, 20 Minuten, 9GAG several times a day, but there's nothing we don't already know. If you spend 3 hours a day on public transport like me, you get really creative when it comes to choosing apps. Apps are a dime a dozen. But here are my top 9!

06:30

I can't do without it: I quickly check the SBB app to see whether the train is running at all or whether I should sit down on the sofa with a coffee to start the day relaxed and stress-free.

Completely out of breath and with a new record time, I settle into my seat on the train. You've seen through me, I live next to the station. Especially on grey days, I always need something positive to cheer me up in the morning. The first app I use for this is Instagram.

For me, Instagram is an extremely inspiring platform. No other medium informs me better about the latest trends in food, fashion, travel destinations or interior design. Every day I discover cool new recipes that look so delicious that I actually cook them. I suddenly find myself experimenting with healthy foods and advising friends on how they can eat healthier. One of my absolute favourite dishes that I know thanks to Instagram: Acaii Bowls

The train is now packed. High time to put my headphones in my ears and switch off the noise around me. Spotify provides me with the best background music while I doze off. My taste in music changes as often as the mood of the female sex. The categorisation by genre and mood helps me to find the right music if it's not a specific artist. Do you get a little wanderlust from time to time? "The sound of the sea" on Spotify invites you to dream!

If I don't feel like listening to music early in the morning and just want to doze off, noise-cancelling headphones can help. Caution: Just don't miss your stop!

I'm halfway through the journey - time to make myself useful: I try to do as many private things as possible while travelling. I often think of hundreds of tasks that I should clarify or complete. To record all these points in a simple but structured way before I forget them again, I prefer to use Wunderlist. This app is wonderfully clear, easy to use and not crammed with functions that nobody needs. It's easy to create tasks, set a reminder if necessary, share tasks with friends or retrieve them on another mobile device.

07:40

10 minutes left before I have to get off. Now it's time to go shopping. But not like you think. I have to order new coffee capsules every few months. A task that I like to put off until I can't go without coffee any more. The Nespresso app counteracts this: My old orders are all saved, so I can just select one of the old ones and send the order within 30 seconds. .

07:50

End of the line. The first thing I do is look for food so that I always have something tasty to munch on while I'm working. But how many times have I stood in the shop and not remembered what I actually wanted to buy? Especially at weekends, when I'm buying dinner for the whole week, nothing can go to waste. Out of Milk is my favourite when I need a shopping list. It's simple, straightforward and quick to type in which groceries I need and how often.

I find myself back on the train on my way home. The journey home seems twice as long, of course, so I come up with the wildest ideas to keep me occupied. One of them is to embellish the design of my apps. Personally, I find it exciting to bring a bit of variety to everyday things. Like with my home furnishings. It could look different every month... but you have to keep things like that to yourself, otherwise you'll get in trouble with the government. Back to the app: CocoPPa definitely doesn't shine in terms of user-friendliness, but it's great fun to choose a design for any app. Simply search for "WhatsApp" or "Calendar" etc. in the app, filter by any colour and choose the best design.

18:35

As if I hadn't already done enough today, I now have to take care of my city, harvest Tomacco and earn a few donuts. You know what I'm talking about? Gotcha! So you're also secretly working on rebuilding your Springfield's?

19:00

Home at last! I haven't even really arrived yet, but I'm tempted to go outside again. The sunset fascinates me every day in our neighbourhood! It seems like the sky is on fire - or my garden... I quickly pull my smartphone out of my pocket and capture the moment (it was the sky). Of course, I'm also equipped with a photo editing app for this. My favourite here: Pixlr Thanks to its clear icons, it's quick and easy to use and the selection of effects is huge.

Nothing works without it:

Of course I'm curious!
What are your favourites? Which apps should definitely be on the list and how do you kill time? I look forward to your comments!

Being creative is my number one passion – from cooking to shopping to home decorating and as a member of the marketing team. High-energy sports like snowboarding, wakeboarding or surfing push me to my limits. Electronic beats blow my mind.
