Tunturi Skipping rope
280 cm
In school, we’d do quite a bit of skipping in gym classes. I hated it then – and I hate it today. Only girls like skipping... right?
I'm not good at skipping. Never have been and never will be. This hectic jumping up and down gets on my nerves. And besides: when I was a kid, only girls played with skipping ropes. No boy voluntarily did such a thing. We played football and had fights on the playground next to the skipping girls. The good old days.
And now I stumbled across this jump rope video online:
Pretty darn cool! Maybe I should rethink my attitude towards skipping ropes? Rope skipping is said to burn three times more calories than running. It’s also great mental training, as it requires coordination skills. Maybe that’s why the girls in my class always had better grades than us boys.
The Tunturi skipping rope can be used in many ways: for muscle, balance, coordination or cardiovascular training. It’s 280 centimetres long and made of nylon. The handles are made of light wood and are coated, making them easy to clean and remain hygienic for a long time. You can use additional weights to increase the level of difficulty and intensity.
This skipping rope with aluminium handles by Kwell is suitable for training, competition and as a fitness accessory to improve coordination, agility, speed, footwork and endurance.
The «Digital Rope» by Kettler requires no counting – calories burned, training time and number of jumps are tracked for you.
I won't go into further detail now, because I’m still unsure whether I should integrate rope skipping into my workout routine or not. What do you think?
Shall I or not?
The competition has ended.
