Looking for a good mascara? You’re in the right place. These are my five recommendations for more length and volume.
Mascara wears out faster than any other make-up product. Daily use, the small amount of product and constant contact with air and bacteria don’t exactly create the best conditions for a long lifespan. This means you have to keep buying more. If you’ve already found a mascara you love, you’ll probably stick with it. But if you’re still looking, you’ll soon find yourself at a loss faced with the seemingly endless options. Overwhelmed with choice? Let me help you navigate the maze.
I’ve put together my five favourite mascaras for you, and I’m sure one of them will be what you’re looking for.
MAC’s waterproof stack mascara’s my current fave and it’s buildable. It stays reliably on your lashes, even faced with high temperatures, sweaty eyelids or high humidity. I love the dynamic brush design, with bristles of different lengths and thicknesses in places. This means that it adapts to your lashes depending on how you hold it.
This one’s an all-time favourite. The Lash Princess has been in a mainstay in my make-up bag for years. Why? It’s affordable, it’s a solid mascara and it has a perfectly curved brush head that reaches every nook and cranny.

Yes, the name’s a bit over the top. But if you want a soft caramel-brown mascara, this one’s your best friend. The narrow brush with short plastic bristles is slightly tapered, making it easier to apply from the roots. This creates nicely separated lashes, but it doesn’t deliver as much in terms of volume.
This is a crowd-pleaser for a reason. You can’t go wrong. Length, volume, multiple layers, staying power – this mascara has it all.
Here’s my detailed product review:
This one’s a bit different and is only for people with long eyelashes. The thick brush with short bristles forms eyelash clusters that create a voluminous 60s look. And it doesn’t wear off at all. If I didn’t know better, I’d say it was waterproof.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
