The new Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ is a chipset for gaming smartphones
The plus in the new Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ chip stands for a higher clock rate and more GPU performance. It is intended for gaming smartphones.
0.3 gigahertz more at the highest clock frequency and 17 per cent more graphics performance: this is what Mediatek promises for its latest Dimensity 9200+ smartphone chip compared to the model without Plus. It should therefore be particularly suitable for gaming smartphones.
Higher clock speed and more graphics performance
The Dimensity 9200+, which is manufactured using the 4-nanometre process, has a total of eight computing cores. The Cortex-X3 offers the highest clock frequency at 3.35 gigahertz. The three Cortex-A715s achieve up to 3 gigahertz. The four Cortex-A510s are trimmed for efficiency with up to 2 gigahertz. For comparison: the Dimensity 9200 has the same computing cores, but they are only clocked at a maximum of 3.05, 2.85 and 1.8 gigahertz.
In order to make the Dimensity 9200+ tempting for games and other applications with intensive graphics calculations, Mediatek also claims to have increased the performance of the Immortalis-G715 graphics processor by 17 per cent compared to the chipset without Plus.
The Dimensity 9200+ is ready for Wi-Fi 7 with data rates of up to 6.5 gigabits per second (Gbps) and also brings Bluetooth 5.3 to smartphones. It also has ray tracing and other features of the Dimensity 9200 without Plus.
Mediatek expects smartphones with the Dimensity 9200+ to be launched as early as May 2023. However, the chip manufacturer is not naming any potential manufacturers. In 2022, for example, the ROG Phone 6D with a Mediatek processor.

Since then I've had the opportunity to test out all the newest technology for you. I've done reviews at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, and have now arrived at Galaxus.de.
