Twitter tests Edit Button
Twitter is conducting internal tests with an edit button. The long-awaited function is to be activated for certain "Twitter Blue" users this month.
In early April, Twitter announced that the social media platform was working on an edit button. After years of requests from the community, the function of being able to correct tweets that have already been published is to be introduced soon. Now Twitter's promises from last spring are becoming more concrete.
In a blog post, the platform with the blue bird confirms that the edit button is being tested internally. The function is being deliberately tested with a smaller group for the time being in order to be able to identify problems in advance - including potential misuse of the button.
Original tweets still visible
An initial screenshot shows what the feature might look like from the outside. It can be seen that the edited tweet is marked as such with an icon and caption. By clicking on this label, users will be taken to an edit log of the tweet. The original version of the tweet thus remains in this log. During the test, tweets can only be corrected within 30 minutes of publication. The time limit and edit log are important to protect the integrity of the conversation, Twitter said.
"Twitter Blue" users get access first
In the course of September, users of the premium service "Twitter Blue" are to get access to the Edit Button - but only in one country at first. It is unclear which country this will be and how long it will take until all users can use the function. However, it is already possible for the entire Twitter community to recognise edited tweets.

It's a take on life I also apply to my job. What does this mean in concrete terms? That every story has its charm; no matter how small, large, exciting or trivial. The more eclectic the mix, the better.
