Windows 11 and Intel Alder Lake: Acer gives Swift-X notebooks an upgrade

Acer updates its top notebooks. The Swift X series will be expanded in two sizes and with different graphics equipment at CES 2022. Windows 11 and Intel Alder Lake are definitely on board.
The aluminum chassis of the Swift X will soon be available in two sizes. Acer has announced two models with a 14- or 16-inch display. Besides expected differences in the screen, the size also leads to different graphics options.
Intel ARC or Geforce RTX
While the 14-inch Swift X has an Nvidia Geforce RTX 3050 Ti, Acer installs the whole new Intel ARC A370M in the 16-inch model. This comes with different cooling structures: one fan, an air-permeable keyboard, and two heat pipes on the 14-incher, and two fans, two copper heat pipes, and a keyboard with an air intake and exhaust vent on the side on the 16-inch notebook.

The 14-inch IPS display has 2240×1400 pixels and a brightness of 300 nits. On the 16-inch Swift X, it's a little more respectively: 2560×1600 pixels and 400 nits.
Intel Alder Lake and Windows 11
Both notebooks will have Windows 11 pre-installed. They will be released in different variants, which are only roughly known so far. For instance, the processors are said to be from the twelfth generation Intel Core - also known as Alder Lake. The RAM is said to be up to 32 gigabytes and the maximum internal storage is a 2 terabyte PCIe SSD.

Rounding out the features are Wi-Fi 6E, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with Thunderbolt 4, one HDMI and two USB-A jacks, a fingerprint scanner, and a full HD webcam with "Temporal Noise Reduction" - which is what Acer calls its technology for low-noise images in video calls.
Price and availability
The Acer Swift X is expected to be available from April 2022. The recommended retail price for both sizes starts at 1199 euros in Germany. I don't have any pricing information for Switzerland yet.

When I was but a young student, I'd sit in my friend's living room with all my classmates and play on his SuperNES. Since then I've had the opportunity to test out all the newest technology for you. I've done reviews at Curved, Computer Bild and Netzwelt, and have now arrived at Galaxus.de.
