Product details
The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard is designed to give you the typing experience. With an all-round high-quality finish and trimmed for short response times, the Ducky One 3 offers gamers and keyboard
enthusiasts a luxurious typing feel. In addition, the switches are not soldered, but mounted on sockets. This makes them very easy to replace without soldering.
The variant of the Ducky One 3 offered here is in the 65-percent SF form factor. By omitting the numeric keypad, the function keys and some of the navigation keys, it takes up even less space on the desk than an ordinary TKL keyboard, but is also less suitable for office applications. To save space, the arrow keys are also indented.
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy. Ducky takes into account four essential aspects that are decisive for the typing feel: the keycaps, the housing, the sound and the stabilisers.
That's why all variants of the Ducky One 3 feature high-quality keycaps made of PBT. The semi-crystalline plastic is particularly popular with keyboard modders because it is resistant to abrasion. Ducky casts the keycaps from two layers of plastic so that the key lettering is always clearly legible. The keycaps do not develop the shine common to other plastics, which is caused by intensive use.
A frequent criticism of mechanical keyboards is their clunkiness. The housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, in combination with the three-step feet, relieves the wrist.
To improve the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber compounds and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional foam layer made of EVA to effectively dampen resonances when typing and hard keystrokes.
